Realizing recently that we have many things in common including our home towns, I learned that a new friend in town has a daughter with LCA. However her particular strain, RDH12, is very rare. Researchers are working hard to find a cure for what will otherwise become a world of blindness for her daughter and others with RDH12. What gave me hope was learning that researchers have found a cure for other types of LCA and it is quite possible that they could find a cure for RDH12 during Finley's lifetime. But not without funding.
HearSmart Audiology gladly has donated to The RDH12 Fund for Sight today and I hope you will too. Click here for information on how to donate and make a difference. To read more about Finley's story, you can visit her website, Finley's Fighters.
Consider coming out on June 8, 2014 at 1PM for a 5K Run/Walk Family Picnic Fundraiser on the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail in Chelmsford. From what I understand, last year's event was extremely fun. Give today and make a difference!
